There Is Never Enough Time When You Are Home

We spend Christmas Eve driving around in a
Motorhome looking at Christmas Lights. If you
haven't tried it, you should. It was a great
experience!
It was just a week ago that I finally crossed the state line and headed into Wisconsin. It was a day that I had been waiting for since we found out when the kids went on Christmas Vacation. I was going home.

We have now been here for a week. The kids have terrorized my parent's house, we drove around in a motorhome looking at Christmas lights, we have played in the snow, we have visited with a few people, and we played countless board games. Yet, I keep having this dreadful thought... in just about a week, I will be back in the car heading back to California.

Vacation always seems to go fast, regardless of what you are doing or where you are going. However, this one seems to be going insanely fast and the only thing I know is I want time to slow down. I don't want to head back to California. I want to stay here.

Why is it that coming home is enough to make a person even more homesick than they were before they even came back home?

Yet sadly, I know the end of this vacation will come to an end and we will be in the car soon. So, if you are wondering why it has been quiet around here, it is because I am taking a breather and spending quality time with my family. We have a short amount of time to shove as many memories as we can in... and I am going to make the most of it!

  1. Time flies when you're having fun. So glad you got some down time to spend with the family. You have been missed. But, I hope you get more vacation time at home with those that you love.

  2. It's always great to visit, but once you're home, you'll recognize how much you missed it, too. Time always seems to go too quickly with loved ones, but independence is nice too! Enjoy yourself!

  3. I really like what Rich said. It's wonderful to visit but then I always miss home, too. It's hard leaving family to go back home and I always am on the brink of tears but then I get back home an into my routine. I hope you're having lots of fun, though. :)
