Yep, that is right. In just a few short days we are heading back home to Wisconsin to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family.
Holidays have always been difficult since I have met my husband. They have become even more difficult since we have had kids. At the beginning, we always flew on the holiday so we could see both families for the holidays. The more kids we had, the more expensive and stressful it became to see both families. Now we have to choose sides.
It has been two years since I have been home for Christmas. If we wouldn't have been able to go home this year, that would have made three years missing from the Christmas festivities.
I miss them terribly. I miss the memories that everybody takes for granted because they get to see their family all the time. For us, we need to shove a year's worth of memories in one or two visits. It just isn't nearly enough.
So I couldn't think of a song that was better fitting for Musical Monday: I'll Be Home For Christmas by Kelly Clarkson.
Hope everybody gets a chance to spend some time with their families for the holiday season.
Beautiful Stacy and so happy that you will be able to spend Christmas with your family. Great Music Monday selection, too :)
ReplyDeleteI can relate to you being with your family, Stacy. My family is overseas and visiting them happens once in two years so, we try to gather as much memories as we can during that 2 weeks stay.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time and Happy Holidays :)
I love visiting family. I personally do okay for about four days and then it's time to trek back across the country, lol. I love em to pieces, but I've always looked at a little like fish: the first day it's great, second day it's still good, third day pfft, and fourth day it's rotting...lolol...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time with your family!
ReplyDeleteCherish those memories, Stacy! I lost both of my parents and hubby doesn't talk to his parents. So, it's always just the 3 of us for every holiday. Man, does it get old looking at his ugly a$$ every year. ;D Have a safe trip and a wonderful Christmas!
