Merry Sarcastic Christmas!

I have been all sorts of Scrooge this year... Probably because there is no snow on the ground and we don't plan on decorating for Christmas. Why would we? We won't be around. It would be more of a hassle to put it up to just take it down. And believe me, I got a lot of dollar store decorations. I am the queen of tacky Christmas decor and it barfs all over my house.

That being said, we can't do the traditional picture of the family in front of the Christmas tree to send out on our family Christmas cards.

I know... everybody all at once... awe.... how precious. Your family looks amazing.

This year, I don't want to do traditional. This year I want to be sarcastic and funny. So yesterday I went on a mission for sarcastic Christmas shirts. I scored one for my husband and me right away. I was excited. The kids - couldn't find anything. We went from store to store.

I was getting frustrated. All the Christmas shirts for kids were centered around Hello Kitty. Now I get it. Kids aren't necessarily the target for sarcastic Christmas shirts. But still, this was frustrating. However, we did finally find something suitable.

Cost of outfits = $66
Cost of cards = $25
Look on people's face when they get our card in the mail = PRICELESS

So here is a preview of one of the pictures we took for our sarcastic family photos....

What kind of Christmas cards do you send out?

    1. I usually don't... that being said, I always have the intention and then I just never get around to sending them out. But, the last couple of years I have made a real effort to get cards out because we haven't been able to be home for Christmas and this is the only way they get to see us.
BTW - we are heading back to my home in Wisconsin... Green Bay area! :)

  4. Great ideas! The card is fantastic! Good way to stop the idiotic commercialism and bring some fun to the holiday. My wife buys a box of cheap cards and sends them out. She gets into it, so I don't say anything. Sometimes, silence is golden! Excellent post!

  5. Your card made me laugh! :) What fun! I love the poses and I can imagine the mumbles of your kids as they posed. Hehehe.
I don't send Christmas cards. I chalk it up to my clark personality, lol. But, I get a kick out of everyone else's cards, hehe.

    1. Ha ha - the only kid that gave me an issue was the youngest one... he was not in the mood to have his picture taken. Then again... I think he has a clark personality. I listen to him scream from the time he wakes up until the time he goes to bed!!

  6. It's fabulous! Send it, and put a smile on a lot of grumpy faces! :) We send photos every other year, but not this year. I'm kind of relieved. Don't tell hubs I said that...

    1. My lips are sealed. Sending out the cards is kind of a new thing for me. I like doing the photos, but a part of me wonders... do these photos go in the garbage like the Christmas cards might...

    1. I hear you on the hectic part. And it is approaching so fast. I got them done and out in the mail. If anybody is within arms reach, I will just give them a card in person. But I do have to say... this was a fun one to do! :)
