Music Monday: This is what happens when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed....

I am so glad that it is Music Monday. You see, yesterday I swear I must have woke up on the wrong side of the bed and I have been humming, whistling, and even singing this song that has been stuck in my head all day. And then I woke up today - and it is still there!

Here is the funny thing though - I have only heard the song once in my entire life. Sure, it is a pretty popular song but I usually just listen to CDs or my Ipod so I don't catch the new stuff. So when this exploded the charts and everybody was talking about it, I had to privately seek this song out to see what the big deal was! And frankly, I didn't really get it. I neither hated or loved the song. That was until yesterday... when suddenly I couldn't get the song out of my head.

Now I understand why people had such big reactions to it. It was catchy and contagious. And yes, while it will irritate some, you have to admit, it just has that beat that sticks in your head. And personally, I actually kind of like it.

So here is the video "Call Me Maybe" not featuring the real Carly Rae Jepson, but Steve Kardynal in Chat Roulette. So, even if you don't like the song, I think you will get a kick out of the video. Just check out some of the reactions of these people. I have watched it several times now (I am doing research to see how long it takes to get out of my head!) and I can't stop laughing. Hope you enjoy!

  1. Stacy, I too didn't get all the fuss and then one warm summer day someone posted the video clip and listened and also couldn't get the song out my damn head either!! I totally get why it is catchy, because I didn't even need to play the above video and am singing the song all over in my head, lol!!

  3. Okay, now I'm dying to watch this video, but I can't bc I'm sitting in my daughter's room while she's trying to take a nap. I've heard people talking about this song, and I've probably heard it, but I don't know it off the top of my head.

  4. Yes, that video is quite hilarious! Have you seen the video of the Harvard baseball team doing a dance in their seats in the van on the way back from a baseball game -- too funny. I've seen people spoof that one. My own son tries to imitate it too. Thanks -- a good laugh for a Monday!

  5. I loved the video! I'm afraid I shouldn't have watched it, though. I've had this song stuck in my head before, and it took me almost a week to get it out. I can feel it coming on again! Aagh!! Great post!

    1. I love this song too... but then again... according to what others think of my strange music tastes... I am usually the one in a million. I also still listen to Barbie Girl! :D

  7. Stacy - And your mother said you used to be such a sweet girl! lol I think I'm going to have to listen to some Megadeth or Metallica now just to bring myself back to even keel. Omg, where's my new Bob Dylan Album! Loved it!

    1. Ha ha - last I checked my mother never said I was a sweet girl. Maybe that is why I like posting these videos. It makes me feel less lonely knowing now I am not the only one with the song stuck in my head! ;)
