I'm So Tired... by The Beatles
This past week, my age has really shown through. I can almost guarantee my younger self could have handled it without taking a week to recover. Being 33 - well, it is like having the worst hangover, but not from the actually drinking. I am just worn out!
We went to Las Vegas for a night. We are pretty fortunate because it is a pretty short drive from were we live. So, we went up there for to meet some friends from home in Wisconsin. Well, we all know Vegas is the city that never sleeps... too many shows... too many lights... and the allure of the winnings on the slot machines (I haven't graduated to the hardcore gambling yet!) Needless to say - we stayed out late. We didn't even think about closing our eyes until almost 6 a.m. and we were up by 9... after all... there were things to do, part of which was driving back home after a night of partying on the strip in Vegas.
Saturday night and all day Sunday - not even close to the recovery needed. Today - Monday - I woke up still exhausted. I am getting far too old for all this! But hey - not to old that I forgot how to have fun!
You're so funny! Feeling old at 33? Wait until 40! Sometimes I feel hungover after staying up late to watch a movie. :) Glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteOh no... you mean it gets worse!!! LOL
DeleteHelllloooooooooo who who! Amm I here? Where am I? lol
DeleteOk I think it's gonna work this time Stacy...and since I spoke to you on the phone about this this morning...yeah...I replied:) lol
THIS IS A TEST! TESTING>>>>>>
You got it!!! I spent a good portion of the morning taking photos of my shoes... They felt like a model but preparing for my next Vegas blog posting! LOL
Deletewow. I would not have been able to do that!
ReplyDeleteI am starting to think I can't either. But I blame the oxygen they pump into the air. Honestly, I had to force myself to sleep! :)
DeleteI am with Julie at only 2 years older than you at 35 so would not have been able to do that. I am lucky when I can stay up past midnight and not feel hungover the next day, lol!!
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely how much times have changed. Even 5 years ago staying up late was never a problem. Sign of old age... you need more and more sleep! LOL
DeleteStacy...you wore me out just reading that! Now I need a dang nap! :) I'm with Amy, if I don't get to bed at a decent time (no later than 10pm), I'm a cranky bleep the next day. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a tendency to be cranky regardless so I figure I might as well just go with the flow! ;)
DeleteI was going to come up with a great comment, but I've grown too tired to continue. I hate to say it, but I have a 33 year old daughter. Now, I not only feel tired, I feel old. Vegas... remember doing stand up comedy there... 20 years ago ... now I'm feeling ancient. lol Stacy, have you seen my walker with wheels anywhere? Great Blog! : )
ReplyDeleteIronically... I have seen the walker around. I think my husband was borrowing it. He may be 33 but his body is much older than that. I am sure Vegas was hard on him! :) Thanks for the interest comment! And remember, we are only as old as we feel... and after a trip to Vegas... we probably all feel ancient! ;)
DeleteOkay Stacy, now I feel old. I'm not a mom and just shy of 30 and you've done more getting dressed up and partying this year than what I have. I think I may need to change that - soon! ;) Great blog, glad you had fun. Hopefully you're feeling a little more human today, lol.
ReplyDeleteAhh.... we have to live life or before we know it, life will pass us by. We don't get out often but when we do it has been memorable! :)
DeleteDude. I'm 33 too. HAHA. I haven't been out partying in forever - super boring, I know. But I DID make a website that required me to stay up til 1am on Saturday night. Sunday I was tired. Monday I was tired. In fact, Monday I was more tired than Sunday! I slept 10 hours last night. God, I have to go to bed by 10...but I love staying up late! Gettin' old! Dem bones are creakin'. :)
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling! Most nights I am falling asleep on the couch. In fact, it has started to become habit where we head up to bed before midnight. I must be needing my sleep in my old age! LOL
